SHAETHON AI is building Tether, a deterministic security gateway for AI agents. Before an agent's payload executes or touches a downstream system, Tether's decision gate evaluates the request and issues a cryptographically signed, single-use permit. No permit, no execution. Every decision is committed to a hash-chained audit ledger.
We're pre-revenue, bootstrapped, and live at shaethonai.com. The prototypes work. Now we need someone to turn them into systems a bank or hospital could actually run.
What you'll build
- The production decision gate: request evaluation, policy enforcement, allow / deny / escalate outcomes
- Cryptographic permit issuance and verification (Ed25519), with HSM-backed key management and rotation
- Distributed replay protection — single-use permits enforced across instances, not just in one process
- The hash-chained audit ledger as a durable, tamper-evident store
- Gateway integrations: SDKs and plugins so Tether sits in front of real customer LLM pipelines
What we're looking for
- Deep backend fundamentals: you've built systems that handle real load and failure
- Working knowledge of applied cryptography — signatures, key management, nonce schemes — not just "used a library once"
- Distributed systems instincts: consensus, idempotency, exactly-once semantics
- Python today; comfortable reaching for Go or Rust where it matters
- Security mindset: you think in threat models, not just features
- Self-directed. There is no ticket queue. There's a founder, an AI assistant, and a blank roadmap.
Compensation
Founding equity plus a modest base that grows with revenue. This is an early, high-ownership seat — priced like one.
Location
Remote (US). Phoenix a plus.
How to apply
Send something that shows how you think: a project, a write-up, a war story. Resumes optional.
